  1. Great Read!
    I’ve ended up w/ a rolling chassis KX125 w/ VIN KX125A-004410.
Now, Can anyone tell me how to date this as 79′ or 78′? year model.? I ass-u-me it to be 79′ as articles state only 1600 early production KX125As were made?

I bought the 1st 1979 CR125R from Honda of Wilson, Owner partner John McCorquodale, made me wait 1-week so the bike could at least be displayed in the show room, due to it being a totally new CR125R Red Rocket. My driving partner & I should call him my “Driving travel sponsor”, Bobby Barnes suggested, I not be loyal to “Big Red”, just because I worked for Honda of Wilson.
The 79′ Red Rocket was a suspension nightmare, but after getting rear suspension sorted out w/ Works Performance SuperCrosser” Dual rated springed shocks, my riding techniques improved drastically.
