I’ve been a hardcore fan of PulpMX for years now. I’ve listened to all of the shows (yes, I’m a dork like that).
I’ve been a hardcore fan of PulpMX for years now. I’ve listened to all of the shows (yes, I’m a dork like that).
I love the info and gossip that is given. One thing I really love is the hashtags/references that are made up during the show. I invited a couple of ultra-fans to have some input as well? Mim Damo & Jonathan Lee.
MIM – #theothermartin Alex is funny and enjoyable to listen to on radio especially with his partner in crime Filthyphil #letPhilride #FreeFilthyPhil
Jonathan – I feel like Christophe turned over a new leaf this year to a certain extent, and while I would like to know more about “The Crafty Frenchman”, I think he would be a terrible interview on the show.
Chuck – I honestly thought Christophe would pull out of the series after a few races. To my disbelief #lebleu won a 250 national, I thought others like BB4 would have battled him more.
MIM – I am a big Pourcel fan, let’s just get that out there. Now let me drop the #Youdontknowwhathesbeenthrough and the #leavechristophealone. Watching him ride and how he works the track is just awesome, and is worth the price of admission in itself.
#powell 2nd best looking man in moto next to Timmy.
Jonathan – #WashBays Steve always makes a big deal about the GP’s wash bays, and I agree with him. Our sport needs better infrastructure at the venues, especially for mechanics.
MIM – This is an awesome facility. But on washbays at the other AMA tracks, my local track in little Western Australia even has a concrete washpad. #cumonMXsports
Jonathan – Bogle has won me over this year and he seems to have won Steve over with his tweets. #YungNoQuit
Chuck – He didn’t drop any big whippers for me, but homeboy has some style! #legswag And he has on his team the trainer to the stars? R-Fed.
MIM – I expected a bit more from Bogle, I’m a fan, kid has style but from his debut in 2011 when he went 5th OA at Unadilla and was showing speed by Steel City and Pala by battling with Deano, BB & Tomac early on in motos, I expected a bit more from him and to be honest thought he or Osborne could be in the hunt for a title. #bitchslaps
Jonathan – To quote the great Tony Alessi, #WhatTheHellHappened with Baggett this year? Seemed like his relationship with the team went sour this year and he had all but checked out and mentally moved on.
Chuck – BB4 looked very relaxed at this race, maybe I was expecting the BB4 of old coming around at the end of the race and smoking everyone else. He has the skills, let see how his 450 season will go next year.
MIM – The goat killing mythical creature of Mexican mythology was not around in 2014. He did come on strong, but as 2011 and 2013 he struggled come the latter half of the season and lost the speed. This year Bagget seemed to just be a Chupa “To Suck”. #Chupachup
Jonathan -2014 was forgettable for Zach but I hope the #GeicoMoney and appeal of #EksBrandMoney get #Zachypoo back into form next year.
Chuck – Zach Osborne #1E #stampit I’m calling in right now, Zach will win the east coast lites championship next year. #whosthomosmancrush
MIM – I’m a fan of Zach and I feel he was one of my favorites for the title. Hoping 2015 can go big for him #justdoingISDEforfun
Jonathan – #CoopersWebb had a season that was definitely #CoolAsCrap. Ping wasn’t stoked on his podium interviews, but I his genuine interviews and never give up riding made him my favorite in the 250 class.
Chuck – I loved the interviews as well!! #frenchdontwantnone
MIM – Cooper has style and getting into a team deathmatch with Martin for like 7th place at Lakewood is just awesome in my book. Maybe it’s the Carolina heritage #Rubbinsracing #imaputhiminthewall
I loved the sequence of the next 4 photos: all the same jump, different riders styles.
Jonathan – Zach Bell… I don’t know if it’s the naturally endearing effect from his outrageous helmet/body size ratio or the fact that he has resembled Raggedy Ann way too many times this year, but I feel bad for Zach Bell. With how many terrible crashes he’s had, can we just give him the #BellRung nickname yet?
Chuck – I honestly didn’t know that he was racing, Bell has been under the radar this season. Hopefully he can make 2015 his year.
MIM – Zach is not flying through the air in this picture. So I say a win? I hate to do this but Ryano is right, kid needs more strength if he wants to ride way he does. #chargelife #Shortround #finallygotastart #AirBell
Jonathan – I have no clue who this cat is on the left, but I am a big fan of the less is more trend coming on with gear, and although played out, the #FlatBlack helmets that Steve loves so much are a perfect piece when paired with bright gear.
Chuck – I’m really offended right now that Jonathan doesn’t know who Landon Powell is right now. 2015 national number #85 will be ruling the west coast lites class next year. Root for him next year at a race near you!
Jonathan – Sure, Jeremy Martin dominated the series this year, but I can relate to him as much as I can relate to a rock. He comes straight out of the RC School of Public Relations, and that my friends is not a school for the gifted and talented. Jeremy Martin is fast, but to be honest, I don’t care and just don’t “get it”. I know, #SnobbyFan
Chuck – This guy can ride, he was by far the best of the season. During supercross, I was really disappointed, but this was the perfect turnaround season for him.
MIM He’s superfast but he doesn’t have anything in particular in his riding that “woo’s” me. But kid kicked ass on a backwards motor bike the color blue. So I’m happy. #YZFMasterrace
Jonathan – #PistaCole had a somewhat quiet season after Glen Helen, but that’s normal. The move to the 450s is going to allow him to utilize his strengths as a smooth rider.
Chuck – #bears
MIM – #wouldratherbedrifting if he’s struggle at the nationals on a 250, I don’t see big things from him when he gets on the 450 outdoors. Indoors, the kid will win races.
Jonathan – This picture does it for me, because I’m a big Marvin fan as well. He has nearly the total opposite style of Anderson, but he is one of the nicest riders I have ever met and his creativity on the bike is impressive. #MooseCan for life bro.
MIM – Savatgy has got a ride for next year and I’m happy for him, he was hilarious on show #4phonesbro and came straight into pro ranks on west supercross and was running top 5’s.
Jonathan – McElrath raced the outdoors this year? #WhoKnew, but I do like the guy.
Chuck – seriously, another rider that had a great ride this year, but was rarely seen.
Jonathan – Trey’s last name means duck in French, so that’s cool, and he is another rider that makes me want to ride just by watching him. But this year he stepped it up to a whole new level when he truly showed he gives no effs and went #DoubleGoggles. Bold move.
Chuck – I remember the first year Trey rode the East coast lites class. I was in shock to see him beat RV2, I know that he still has it in him to beat him again. Trey will claim the 450 championship next year #stampit
MIM – #IceTrey as Rocket rob refers to him, just keeps coming back stronger from big injuries like he don’t know how to quit.
Jonathan – Peick’s year was somewhat underwhelming, but I think that is due to the overhyped expectations of overzealous fans that were ready to crucify Watson if he didn’t #GivePeickARide. While fans were busy painting Peick’s name on a water tower a la Ferris Beuller, I was like, “Even if Peick was capable of caring for something, he would not get within 1% of what all of you fans are doing. Chill bros, he’s #TheAnnihalist.”
Chuck – does he even believe in the factory ride that he scored for the summer and 2015?
MIM – Peick is a total badass. #wannastepintothetunnel He doesn’t care about anything, unless you cut him off or take him out. He will end you.
Jonathan – When Josh Grant was on 250s, I might have elected him for President. … Ok, that’s a little overboard, but he had incredible style and looked like he was on a solid trajectory. Nowadays I feel like that ship has lost it’s rutter and my neck is nearly sore #SMH after seeing all of the poor PR moves by his camp. When I think Josh Grant, all I think of now is #SMH, and I don’t like that.
Chuck – I loved Josh Grant, the underdog has come through with some awesome rides. I really wanted him to come out of his tough guy shell and show some character. I have found character from the rest of his camp though à #HEZCIN #zebracakes
MIM – sigh. I was a big fan of JG right up until 2013 and I put up some big $ for the Intersection film. I know he’s had some bad injuries (Phoenix 2011 ACL courtesy of the Universes) but just very mehh the last 2 years. #brocal #kranyakmoney
Jonathan – Weimer’s interviews on the PulpMX Show are always great because Jake seems to have found the secret to being a real person within the sea of superficial “Can’t thank”s and “Gotta give it ups” of the pro mx world. It doesn’t seem like Jake has a big enough ego or interest in the goings on of the sport to chime in on the show regularly, but if he could it would definitely be #GreatRadioBro.
Chuck – Coming from a small town in Idaho to factory superstar, it’s been awesome to see his success. I don’t think Jake is done yet. Does he have a cool nickname yet?
MIM – I don’t rate Weimer but dude is arguably better than Peick, Tickle & even Metty for results overall. He has had good races indoors. It’s got me wondering why he isn’t even mentioned for 2nd spot at RCH.
Jonathan – Chad didn’t give up this year because Chad sees beyond the microcosm that is professional sports. In fact, Chad seems to “get” the game of life. He’s determined to succeed, and sometimes that requires weathering the storm of a crappy season instead of race wins and championships. Chad’s in this for the long haul and that’s apparent. Just ask Ozzy. #GunSlinger #LookASharkInTheEye
Chuck – Chad Reed is a bad dude, not many people in this sport can claim that. I don’t think that he has much style on the bike, but his sheer determination is what has won me over year after year #NOTHINGISOVER
MIM – Moto win at Latvia. You can take that to the bank. #HiRyan #MXDNmotowinner2015 #stampit
Jonathan – Metty had a lackluster season, but perhaps he was just missing Canada. If it weren’t for his Aussie accent I’d say he’d fit right in with every Canadian I’ve met. #GoodPeople
Chuck – I was hoping for a better season with Metty. I have much respect for his choice to do outdoors only this year and maybe even next.
MIM – Metty’s 450 results 2010: 2nd, 2011: 4th, 2014: 4th. Metty goes about it quietly, but he is dependable, a hard worker, no drama’s and will be the best of the rest outdoors. #Pulpmxreader
Jonathan – Alright, I’ve got to come clean on this one. I am not a fan of Enticknap. Actually, let me clarify, I am more than happy to dedicate a few claps and cheers in support of the 722, but the creator of the #SubwayRap’s general demeanor is a huge turnoff to me. Not that I’m trying to get an eHarmony match here, but for me a little bit of 722 goes A LOOOOOONG way. So long in fact that the only episodes I have missed of the show are the ones when he is on. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and most fans seem to like him, but I just can’t connect with #TheSevenDeuceDeuce.
Chuck – I’m more of a Tinder guy here and I would give him the green heart. His raps have been good for the most part. I have major respect for a guy who traveled the USA to ride. After meeting him, he is a super nice guy with lots of enthusiasm; and trust me, it’s real.
MIM – I thought 722 has a good attitude and seems cool. But that #Dirtshart rap was pathetic. #Fullgargle #blowingthedirtshart
Jonathan – Nick Schmidt is a bad dude. I have no evidence other than the #MilestoneAssassin’s hair, but #DidYouSeeHisHairFlying?
Chuck – #didyouseehishairflowing #milestoneassasin Steve would mention how he liked his hair that flowed out of the helmet when he was riding, it wasn’t till I got home that I saw it.
MIM – Any rider that runs long hair out the back of a helmet like a young JMB, gets 2 thumbs up from this guy. #LikeJMB
Jonathan – BQ seems like a very cool guy, and he seems to have his head on straight. If you can’t tell already, I’m a fan of that type of rider, and even though he doesn’t race very often, I admire that he is taking a unique approach to utilizing his insane talent on a bike to make a living. Keep it up BQ. #GoodGuyGreatGuy
Chuck – BQue didn’t qualify for the day, but he’s looking forward to riding more races next year.
MIM – Brett is a class act and hope he continues to enjoy riding his dirtbike #biggestwhip
Chuck – #teamcanada Talk about grit, crashing on the first lap of the race, and riding the rest of moto one coughing up blood was crazy.
Moto 1 battle part 1
Moto 1 battle part deux
Chuck – #fastfredy
These are for you Sinjin.
Jonathan – #Beef’s story of being completely okay with working at a Shell Gas Station/Convenience store completely blew my wig back. Has to qualify as one of my favorite stories of the year.
MIM – I’m not happy with Goerke for single handedly #Rooning Supercross by launching his bike over a berm. #needbigberms
Chuck – I would be impressed everyday if I had to watch Eli ride. He was one of the only guys tripling the huge step up in the middle of the track.
Jonathan – Since I train for and race MTB I feel like I have a connection to Eli and #TheGeneral, but I think the joke’s on me. If you’re taking speed, the Tomac’s are Cheetahs and I’m a beached manatee. By the way, #HisDadIsGnarly
MIM – The Tomahawk is awesome. It took him a bit to get going but once he gets that 450 sorted out look out for him to blow by other guys you think are fast and win races indoors and outdoors. #killingit
Chuck – I wonder how long this snowboard will last at the ranch?
Chuck – Big B was all smiles this day, good job to him as well!
Chuck – Getting the checkered flag for the first 450 national championship.
Jonathan – Dungey’s appearance on the Pulp show was #GreatRadioBro. My wife is his biggest superfan, so Steve went up a few notches or 10 in her book after that.
Chuck – Dungey being the class act he is, congratulating Roczens family after it was all over. I actually enjoyed when he came onto the Pulpmx show a while ago. #teamdungey
MIM – Dungey was awesome on the show. I’m not a huge fan but you just have to like the guy for his professionalism and the fact that he is one of the greats in this sport. #HiRyan #creamedpants #unblocktits
Chuck – I liked to see this, it was good to see Ken and mechanic (Kelly) have a smile together after the season.
