So I can’t resist sending you a picture of my good self from back in the day. ’85 KTM 250. Good bike apart from the radiator brackets broke weekly , the back wheel would snap spokes then the spoke heads would drop inside the brake drum and tear the brake linings to pieces, the fork internals blew to pieces , the shock blew up , the tank was molded badly so the plastic would flake off and clog the jets, front brake NEVER worked , the kick start snapped in half , the subframe fitted so badly the bolts holes were about 1/2′ off ,the Acerbis plastic would break if it even thought you were gonna start riding. Neutral ? I don’t think it was in there and finally the main seals blew apart.
I bought it ‘cos Heinz Kinigardner was kicking ass in the 250 worlds at that time. Something tells me he wasn’t riding a stocker!! Next time you see the KTM guys tell them they owe me $2 grand and a year of my life which was wasted trying to ride this P.O.S.
