When I ran those photos of reader Ruben’s stuff he sent in, I started thinking about my stuff that I have here. Then I started thinking that maybe some of you might be interested in my stuff the way I was into Ruben’s stuff. So send me some of your stuff if you want and we can all look at each others stuff. That may sound gross but it’s not like that.

Let’s start this out with something from Tim Ferry. Imagine that. Anyways, this is his helmet from 2004 supercross series. It’s a pretty sweet helmet and when he found out I had it, he wanted it back but no dice. Besides, he’s got another one almost identical. How did I get this without him knowing? Read on… |
I got this because Anaheim 2, 2004 he went down in practice and broke his wrist. This was the start of all his problems and he went to the hospital with this helmet for some reason. You can see the fin on the back that he broke in the the crash. |
So the hospital took it from him once he got there, put a sticker on it indicating it was his (you can see the glue from the sticker on there) and then they gave it to team manager Jim Perry who in turn gave it to me when he got back from the hospital. I figured, hey-he’s never going to use this unlucky and crashed on helmet so I may as well safe-guard it. Then Red came over and wanted it back but finders-keepers I say. |
This is a jersey that I wore at the Miami SX in 1989 when I was down there riding with my dad. We went to the race and I got all these cool autographs from anyone I found in the pits. Damon Bradshaw won the 125’s this night after crashing twice in the main event. Got him on there, maybe Larry Ward could’ve signed a little bigger huh? Spot the legends… |
Doug from Bridgestone knew I was a massive Ron Lechien fan so he gave me this little diamond from Ronnie’s comeback in ’91 in the 500 nationals. I shipped it to the Dogger (because I, like, know him now and that’s awesome) and he signed it "To Steve, your buddy, Ron Lechien" and just in case I didn’t know it already, he made sure that he put "The Dogger" in there. Which makes it even more cooler. I framed this bad boy. |
Always loved the JT ALS-2, the problem was in Canada we had to have Snell approved lids and the JT was not legal. Therefore Tom (my dad) would not buy me one. Anyways, years ago I met a guy named FTE on the message boards and he mentioned that he had a pristine ALS-2 for me and all it would take was a set of Ferry’s plastic from Hangtown. I couldn’t get the bolts off fast enough and I definitely think I ripped him off big time. Add on a set of JT goggles that I already had and I’d say this is a beautiful centerpiece. |
This is a replica AMA number 1 plate that Yamaha gave all of us when Reed won the title in 2004. It’s pretty cool and looks authentic and is cool to have all these years later despite me at the time wanting to set it on fire because I didn’t like Chad back then. Him and Ferry were fighting so that meant him and I were fighting. |
This is an RC jersey from the AXO PC days and when RC was winding down I got him to sign it to me at Hangtown when he was hanging out watching practice. It says "To Canada (that’s all he ever called me, I don’t think he knows my name even now), It’s been fun hanging and racing with you all these years" which is a cool thing to say. I’m not sure what he meant by the "racing" part because I was definitely not as fast as him and any rider I worked for rarely ever even saw him after the gate dropped. I framed this one as well. |
So in my quest to collect cool JT stuff, I bought this off E-Bay a little while ago. It was 80 bucks which seemed like a deal at the time but now, months later when it sits in my den and gathers dust, I’m wondering what in the hell I was thinking. It’s still cool I guess. I’d like to get another one that had an OEM name on it and was a really old-school one. |
Here’s my helmet from back in the day that I bought for like $600 bucks and then got Kholor’s Kolors do up for me for like another $600. It was pretty nice but I was pissed when I opened it up and it had an Amercian flag on top!! WTF? Uh, buddy my address said ‘Canada’. |
Like seriously, I can’t believe I never said anything. The original visor is long gone but trust me, the stars went all down the original visor and I looked like a massive traitor to the dudes back home. |
