    You are generally spot on with your assessment of the Ducati RT450, I have owned, ridden, wrenched, raced, cow trailed and enduro’d a number of them over the course of a decade or two. Wonderful motor, but abysmal frame geometry combined with so so suspension made crashes the norm, immediately destroying the pretty, but fragile fiberglass fenders if not your neck in the process. Some devotees of the marque went to the trouble of modifying the fork / frame angle, others lengthened the swing arm to keep the rear end behind you, but that was a band aid on a hemorrhage. Eric Cheney made a vastly improved frame for this motor, but they are few and far between now days. You also mention above that the motor was a “twin cam”, it is not, it is a SOHC motor. A different sub chapter in Ducati history, but not a successful one.
