Seattle Supercross, the Evergreen State, home of the 12th man, Microsoft, Amazon, Nirvana. We have a lot of things going for us, so when I heard that Supercross wasn’t coming back to Seattle in 2015, I was frantically texting everyone to find out who to hold responsible and remedy the situation myself. I never got a straight answer out of anyone as to who technically makes the final decision, but I’m told there is lots of ins and outs and what have you-s. Rumor is it will be back in 2016, but just in case this was the last Seattle Supercross, we went balls out…which didn’t help me keep notes on almost any of the racing. For the record, in the last two years, I haven’t fallen asleep behind the outhouses or in the stands. I’d like to think that’s a combination of maturity, wisdom, and experience, but more likely it’s just luck. I kept the streak alive and again did not produce an interview with either of the riders that came up Just Short of qualifying. If nothing else, at least I’m consistent.
#138 Blake Lilly – KTM250 SX-F – CliL&co, Race tech suspension, Takt Mfg. FMF
Don’t call it a comeback…Blake is back baby! |
What I learned about Blake through Instagram.
1. He’s 19 years old.
2. Currently riding the #138 KTM, although his profile picture is #38 on a Honda.
3. His faith in God plays a big part in his life.
4. Mrs. Lilly (Blake’s mom) has amazing hair.
5. This girl @jordietay seems obsessed with him, she’s in at least ¼ of his pictures. I think she might be stalking him. All these pictures he’s posted with her might be a cry for help.
6. It appears he has a sense of humor and likes dogs.
7. He’s friends with BTO Sports KTM mechanic for “Beef” @lillis2nine, who’s last name is also Lilly. I don’t think they are related, so maybe just an odd coincidence?
#7DeuceDeuce – Adam Enticknap – Ted Parks, Fly Racing, Viking Bait, Cal Coast Plumbing

The 7 Deuce Deuce needs no introduction. Here is yet another high entertaining text interview with Mr. Enticknap. This guy is a sure thing.
Blake has a lot of photos, maybe the most of any rider I’ve profiled. Oddly, Blake and 7DeuceDeuce follow within one person of each other. The popularity of the 7DeuceDeuce is unmistakable, and at this point there is not stopping him now with almost 3,000 followers. |
Blake is posting a picture from his balls point of view, and the 7DeuceDeuce is resting his foot on a ball. I’m guilty of this BPOV (balls point of view) picture posting. I think its funny, but after seeing it from the other side of the fence, I’m going to take a long hard look at my balls before I post a picture from their view again. I do question how well those can-style headphones 7DeuceDeuce is wearing work in the gym. They seem like they would be pretty restrictive, or maybe he’s multitasking and working on a rap while pumping iron. |
Which is more difficult: an off-camber rutted corner, or a rutted supercross corner? A question asked for ages that we’ll probably never have an answer to. |
I’m not sure if that is the 7DeuceDeuce’s mom on the podium with him, but ultimately it doesn’t matter. You can’t beat this picture of Blake’s mom’s hair. #classic #legendary #epic #datttthair |
Both riders do a good job of thanking and promoting their sponsors through IG. Blake has a well laid out ODI display here with bars and grips. Everything is straight and organized, lighting is a little dark, but good overall presentation. Either I’m still hung over from this weekend, or this filter the 7DeuceDeuce used is messing with my eyes. He has left me wanting more though…I’m intrigued, what is in that box? |
You’re only as good as the guy behind the lens makes you look. Nice photo of Blake here by @cmfk524, but it’s no match for the sunset photo of the 7DeuceDeuce by @alan_hess. |
