Round two of the Monster Energy Supercross Series came to San Diego and it was the same “old” dude on top in the 450 and business as usual for Deegs! Let’s dive into the second Daytime Program of 2026.

Hunter Lawrence: Anyone want to hit me up and let me know why we call Hunter HJ? Hunter has unlocked some of his little brothers mid to end race sprint speed. I like that Hunter is grounded enough to know his faults and what he is really good at. He uses all of that to his strength out on the track. I also appreciate that Hunter is not a “black out” type of rider. He understood that if he went in on Tomac on the last lap that he would of screwed his and Tomac’s night. Gotta love those Aussies, man. Hunter is going to be in it for the long haul.

Chase Sexton’s Bike: I am sure already heard that Chase rode Kitchen’s bike and liked what he felt so Pro Circuit and Kawasaki mutually agreed to put their Showa A-Kit fork/shock and their linkage/triple clamps to see if 4 liked that feeling. He did. They left the test track with a plan and that plan seemed to work. Yes, Chase hit the gate but the rider and bike seemed to look better on the track so we will see how long this setting lasts during the course of the year. What was Chase looking for? Chase is looking for more hold up (stiffer setting) but sometimes when you go stiffer you get less comfort. Pro Circuit builds some of their own parts within their suspension and it seems like those parts have helped comfort as well as hold up. It is nice to see Showa and Pro Circuit working together to get number 4 in a better spot (for him).

Joey Savatgy: A lot of people were saying that Joey was hauling pre-season and now in round two we see a top five! If we are seeing a top five Joey this early I think we can see a podium Joey by the end of the year. We just need to stay healthy and on the bike. Look for the team and Joey to do some more testing to get more consistency from the bike during the main event.

Deegs: I guess when I go on Twitter saying that the move that Deegan did on Anstie was kind of a head scratch, I need to learn that the Deegan lovers will say I am an idiot and I know nothing. Noted! Look it, it wasn’t the worst move in the world but when you teammate is “giving” you the position like Anstie was, I think (as a rider) you just make the pass and move forward. But what the efffff do I know? Deegs was faster than Anstie so gapping him wasn’t going to be an issue. Deegs is also known for that “extra sauce” and to me that is something that isn’t going to go over once 450 SX time hits. We are still seeing 250 Deegs. If 250 Deegs rolls over into the 450 class, ehhhhhh boy, grab the popcorn as it’s going to be fun to watch. He is fun to watch and I get how people love watching him race/ride. I get it, Deegan fans, chill back…

Cameron Mcadoo: What a comeback! This dude always seems to find a way to get back onto the box and impress. I have been at the track watching Mcadoo ride and the work ethic is there, the speed is there, it’s just a matter of getting more races under his belt. Mitch told us at the live Pulp Show at Pro Circuit that he when out and saw Mac ride and knew he was ready to go for west. Cameron has kept a lot of the same people in his corner for the good and bad times and when you do that, those bad times start to become less and less because you work through all of those things together (physically and mentally). This is something that is rare in our sport and sometimes doesn’t get talked about enough. Good to see Mac on the box this early into the season.

Michael Mosiman: Another rider who should be stoked on getting on the box is Mosiman. Michael has had his fair share of injuries over the years but his speed has never been in question. I think being in the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha environment has really allowed for this kid to shine. Even though Mosiman makes mistakes, he is one of the most precise riders to watch on the track. Isn’t that crazy? Some of the most precise riders can also make some of the most mistakes. Dirt bikes are hard. Hey he can play the piano though! Wish I could play an instrument…

Hunter Yoder: This dude has improved so much since he got on this Club MX Yamaha. His starts always have been good but it’s a amazing what a good bike and a solid group of people around you can do for a rider. As far as his meniscus tear, I don’t think he has a full tear because if he did, his knee would be more unstable than what (I think) we are seeing. Maybe some therapy and some BPC-157 will be happening!
