For this edition of Classic Ink, we are going to take a look back at some AXO Sport ads from 1995.
In 1995, AXO Sport was still one of the premier gear brands in motocross. We were still a few years away from Jim Hale’s sale of the motocross division and they were majorly involved in sponsoring several riders and teams.
in 1995, one of the biggest stories in motocross was the return of Yamaha’s Damon Bradshaw from the wilderness of early retirement. His return at High Point created a frenzy of anticipation and a big boost in attention for Yamaha and AXO Sport.
Bradshaw’s 1995 AXO gear was definitely on point but his results on the track showed the rust from sitting out the 1994 season.
Despite a season spent out of the sport, Bradshaw remained AXO’s biggest star and was featured in a several of their ads during the 1995 season.
Ryan Hughes and most of the Pro Circuit Kawasaki team (Mickael Pichon had a separate JT Racing deal in 1995) were decked out in AXO in 1995.
Damon Huffman scored a second 125 West Coast Supercross title for AXO Sport in 1995.
Mike Brown and the Honda of Troy squad were another AXO Sport supported team in 1995.
AXO Sport had some of the best gear on the track in 1995.
