1987 Hangtown 250 national and none other than THE Ross chasing after the Bad Boy Rick Johnson in an MXA shot. Weird why they would pick this one for a shot but whatever, it made us up in Canada pretty stoked. Rollerball went 3-6 on the day on his privateer Yamaha for third overall. Yes, Ross got third. As a matter of fact, Ross would get three podiums in his career and the other two came on a 490- which we know is a real man’s bike. RJ won, with Wardy second and then the Ross. It was a great day and as I’ve said before, after Ross got on a Yamaha in ’86 he put in a couple of his best years. 1986 and 1987 were his Yamaha years and overall, up north and down south, he was great. Eighth overall in the ’87 AMA 250 nationals and he missed a couple of races at that! Up in Canada, he smoked everyone. This race, this picture might have captured Ross “Rollerball” Pederson at his greatest heights. And now you know. |
