Dungey had a revelation at A3. Not since maybe his home race in Minnesota last year, has he looked so fast and been the clear alpha-male. |
Blake rode well at A3, better than most expected of him but not quite well enough to make JT lace up his walking shoes. In general though, his season has been going quite well. |
It was great to see Josh Hill back in the main. It’s really unbelievable that he was absent from the main for so many weeks but it’s just a testament to how much 450 power and track design can close the gaps among skill levels. |
Ken looked good but he did lose points to Dungey and Tomac and that certainly can’t make him happy. |
Kyle Chisholm had another solid ride in Anaheim and it would surprise me if he cracked the top 10 a time or two this series. |
Lots of talk about how impressive el Hombre has been but his series has been pretty much what I expected. We all know he has gobs of speed and talent but he’s been a little crashy too, which is kind of his resume isnt it? The sky is the limit when Jason stays on two wheels after a good start. |
Am I the only one who feels like the bubble Justin Barcia has been on the cusp of cresting is damn near ready to burst? Incredibly talented but certainly hasn’t adapted to the 450 riding technique as comfortably as he did the 250. Will he? |
I am NOT going to make a thumb joke here. They’re played out. |
Tyler Bowers has clearly shown that he knows Cooper Webb has the edge in on speed track by trying to mentally eff with him in the expose from the A3 TV broadcast. I don’t see that mental game affecting Cooper. He has to much “eff you” coursing through his veins right now. |
Zach-O has been toughing it out with that bumb thumb(see what I did there?) and is honestly riding pretty well…. when the gate drops anyway. The gate malfunction, “Starting Gate-Gate” as Weege called it, has already been talked to death and yes it’s ridiculous it took 6 laps to through the red flag but what else have we come to expect? In the Black Flag incident it would have made a lot of sense to take time and intepret the facts but in this case it’s a 5 second decision. “Did the gate drop? Nope! Ok, rack em back up!” There IS NO INTEPRETATION! It’s a True/False, Yes/No, This/That deal! Man, the officials at the race make my brain hurt. Why the EFF would you need to make sure you review video tape? At least 45,000 eyeballs saw the gate standing up as every other rider rocketed away, one of them must have been part of the AMA/FIM crew. No? REALLY? |
Cooper had two shots at securing the win. Looking at him, I bet he woulda nailed it 5 times. Kid is on fire. |
Zach Bell has finally (wait for it….) found a sense of consistency and is starting to shed the crash test dummy reputation. Good to see. Slow down, settle down, finish and build back up. |
Josh Hansen looked the best he has in a while from some if not all of the day at Anaheim 3. His finishes have been pretty far off the pace of what I and many others expected but he’s still giving it his all which is good to see. |
Matt Bisceglia came back after a couple rounds out with a concussion and had at least part of his best ride in Supercross yet. I still have hope for Matt. It hasn’t been awesome thus far, not near his ability but the girthy lady aint singing yet. |
I’m just glad Chris Alldredge is wearing his chest-pro. He’s got to stop hitting the deck. |
Bisceglia, lazered in on the holeshot in the *first* 250 main. |
The elevated start didn’t have any strong opinions for or against. To me that says we could see it again. |
Some post-race comeraderie amongst the former teammates and current rivals. |
The most ironic photo of Anaheim 3. |
Mike Alessi just showing textbook cornering position. Mike has been vastly improved since Byrner helped him sort his SX setup last year and he’s still improving. I never thought I’d see the day where he looked comfortable in SX but he really does. |
Tomac feverishly getting the power to the ground. |
The 7 Deuce Deuce not quite as feverish as Eli. |
2 seconds later Eli was heard mumbling “Suck it, Matthes”. |
