Photos by James Lissimore Captions by Jason Thomas So Keefer thought he had the inside line covered and WHAMMO, I changed his mind. Christian Craig before the chaos. I am curious to see how he handles it moving forward. I love the troll logo but that’s about the only nice things I have to say about this paint job. MARTY PARTY! The speed finally arrived and it had a Latin flair. If Marty can harness it for 21 minutes, he might surprise a few people. Wacko Zacho is always a great interview and one of the few riders that I think truly enjoys this side of his job. RV’s beard looks like he colored it with a highlighter. Metty has seen and done it all. Whatever he has to say, I would recommend Clout and Oldenburg listen wholeheartedly. What started as such a promising main event turned to utter disaster by the checkered flag. As much as I don’t want to, I like this look. Austin Forkner must really hate whoops. Like, murderously hate them. He’s only 22 points down but I have a feeling there will be more whoops this weekend. Justin Cooper’s results are 1-2-2 so far and he has quietly run out to a double digit points lead. I can’t say he’s the fastest guy but that doesn’t always determine the champ. This was the beginning of a very rough few laps. Notice in the background, there still isn’t anyone coming. He was GONE after the Ferrandis/Craig crash. Oldenburg started damn near last but fought back to grab another top ten. Nice resiliency. There is a now defunct show called “Seconds From Disaster” which if ever resurrected, would certainly use this photo for an episode. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Just kidding, I am not really into boo’ing people but holy crap, there were like 45,000 other people that are. Man down! The disappointment is written all over his face. He will be back and make no mistake, Jett is for real. Kenny is getting the most important part of the race dialed in as shown here. Life is much easier when you start up front. Or so I’m told. Zach had a weird night but he got it figured out for the main event. Bam Bam struggled in the whoops all day and night and it showed. His 9th place finish resulted in a red plate removal but I think he rebounds for a top five at Glendale. Marty crashed early in the main event but I love that he didn’t quit. Oh, what could have been. BB4 crashed while trying to pass for the lead and a great night went sideways in every way imaginable. It’s weird to see a #1 KTM without a red plate. It looks like a promo shoot or something. Maybe it’s just me. Kenny will be seeing red at Glendale (bad red plate joke). AC struggled to a 6th but being mentally willing to take the 6th was impressive. Some nights other guys are just faster and in a 17 round series, you just have to salvage and escape. JA21 loves to punish riders when he gets the chance. If you are showing weakness or leave the door open, Anderson will magically arrive and make you regret it. I expected more from Mookie this weekend, honestly. The whoops seemed like the perfect storm for him. I don’t have any answers but maybe JS7 will. This looks like a rodeo cowboy pose to me. Kawboy? Ok, I’m done now. I always love to see these small talk scenarios. They don’t say anything meaningful and are mostly to avoid being awkward. That’s the nature of the competitiveness, though. Lissimore
