This past weekend, the Jetwerx Canadian TripleCrown series was back in action after two weekends off, as the series moved east, to an old yet familiar track, the Motocross Ste Julie facility, near the city of Montreal, in the French speaking province of Quebec. A long time fixture on the circuit, it had been 13 years since the last time the Canadian Nationals visited Ste Julie. Heavy rain on Saturday left the track pretty mucky to start the day on Sunday but with decent weather, things continued to get better as race day went on. As always on PulpMX, let’s take a look at what went down with a view to the many American riders who made their way up to race…
The series last visited the picturesque Ste Julie track in 2012.With heavy rain on Saturday, there was a lot of scraping going down Sunday morning.
New for 2025 is the “Stages” competition, which is a team competition. The first stage wrapped up after round 2, with the MX101 Yamaha team taking the win and now running these yellow numbers to show they’re leading the Stages competition.
First practices were canceled, but things were still pretty sticky when the bikes made their way down to hit the track for the first time.
Preston Kilroy nailed both starts in the 250 class.
Red Bull KTM’s Dylan Rempel had his best race yet, with a career best 2nd overall.
It was an off day for Ryder McNabb. Mistakes and tip overs left the 2 time Canadian champ fighting for the final spot on the podium, with 3-4 moto scores.
Rough day for WLTN Kawasaki’s Dylan Walsh. The New Zealander pushed his bike off both motos.
Or do? I don’t know man
Preston Kilroy is taking control of the 250 Championship. The Wyoming native led wire to wire in both motos to make it a clean sweep on the day.
Jess Pettis came into what’s now his hometown race on a bit of a heater, winning the first 3 of 4 motos to start the series. The British Columbia native now lives near the track in Quebec.
With more time on the Triumph, Idaho’s Evan Stice looked much more comfortable at Ste Julie, going 13-6 for 8th overall.
It was a frustrating day for Dylan Wright. The GDR Honda rider pushed hard but couldn’t close the gap to Pettis, finishing second in both motos.
Utah’s Gavin Brough came from last to 16th in moto one, before riding to a solid 8th in moto two, for 13th overall.
Minnesota’s Josh Boaz had a great first moto, finishing in 6th. A crash in moto two left him with a 17th, good enough for 12th overall.
It was a dominant day for Pettis, as the MX101 Yamaha rider swept both motos to increase his lead in the 450 championship.
Dutch racer, Lars Van Berkel, is counting down the days until he gets on a sand track next weekend at Gopher Dunes. The Guaranteed Comfort Honda rider finished 7th overall.
Not Phil’s best day as a crash in moto one left him working his way through the pack to finish 5th, before grabbing 3rd in moto two to take the final spot on the podium.
Quinn Amyotte continues to impress on his stock KTM. 8-4 for 5th overall.
Robbie Wageman came up to Ste Julie to race on the Stark Varg electric bike. He missed qualifying but made it into the second moto as an alternate and finished 19th.
New York’s Trevor Schmidt finished just outside the top 10, in 11th overall.
Tanner Ward made the podium in moto one with a 3rd, but a fall on lap two of the second moto forced him to work his way back up to 11th, for 6th overall.
Pettis is victorious for the second race in a row.
