The Jetwerx Canadian MX Tour series was back in action this past weekend as the series moved on to the Motocross Deschambault track, near Quebec City, in the French speaking province of Quebec.
One of the best tracks in the series, Deschambault is sandy, with elevation and always features great racing. A lot of rain in the days leading up to the race, combined with hot temps, meant that race conditions were gruelling. Let’s take a look at what went down at Deschambault…
The Motocross Deschambault track.
Deschambault is another sand track, with a harder base, like Southwick.
KTM Canada’s offices are in Quebec so they wanted to do special bikes for their home race. They knocked it out of the park with these 1981 themed editions.

Last week’s winner, Gage Linville, narrowly missed out on the podium, going 3-4 for 4th overall on the day.
Evan Stice rode to 19-10 finishes, for 15th overall.
For all of moto one, Benoit and Adams went toe to toe.
Orange Brigade’s Luke Fauser had a rough day. Crashes left him coming from the back both motos. He ended the day 21-27 for 28th overall.
The Southwick like conditions and close proximity brings a lot of New Englander’s to the Deschambault round. Massachusetts’ Russell Buccheri made the trip up and scored 17th overall.
To the delight of his hometown fans, Benoit held off Adams to take the opening 250 moto win.
Massachusetts’ Kyle Murdoch has raced all the East rounds and scored 9th overall
Drew Adams grabbed the start in moto two and managed to pull a 7 second lead on Benoit to take the moto win and the overall.
Connecticut’s Josh Clark finished his day with 12-13 moto scores for 12th overall.
Tyler Medaglia has become “Mr. Third Place” as he scored his fourth straight third overall finish at Deschambault.
Australia’s Tiger Wood grabbed 11th overall.

Adams’ won the overall but didn’t take any points out of Benoit, so that 8 point gap is going to be tough to close going into the final round at Walton Raceway in two weeks. Things could get spicy.

The legendary Keith Johnson, who was a series regular in Canada in the early 2000’s, was back for another crack at Canadian racing, though in his 50’s now. Unfortunately he didn’t qualify but it was great having KJ back up north.
With Deschambault being in the French speaking part of Canada, the track promoters brought over France’s Adrien Malaval to compete at the race. He worked his way through the pack both motos, to take a pair of fourths on his way to fourth overall.
Australia’s Aaron Tanti led the first half of moto one before dropping back to fifth. Bike trouble in moto two left him rolling around to 20th place.
Julien Benek pushed hard to get 6th overall.
Another Massachusetts rider lining up at Deschambault was Justin Cokinos. 13-11 for 12th overall.
Jimmy D lined up a MX101 Yamaha for his buddy James Harrington to come up and race on. 12-7 for 8th overall.
Michigan’s Jerry Lorenz snuck into the top 20, with 15-28 finishes for 19th overall.
New Zealand’s Josiah Natzke is taking this title fight down to the wire. He bounced back from a third in moto one to take the second moto win, and second overall.
Another overall win for Jess Pettis, who will take a 10 point lead into the final round.
Denmark’s Matti Jorgensen was back for another week of Canadian racing. 8-14 for 11th overall.
Preston Kilroy continues to improve with every round. 2-3 finishes for third overall on the day for the Wyoming native.
Pettis lives in Quebec now so this was a bit of a hometown race for the Red Bull KTM rider. His French still needs some work but he’s learned enough to get the crowd fired up.
