We are just about the start the 2026 Pro Motocross season! This article will be a final stats recap of the 2026 Supercross Season and then I’ll have some stats and milestones to watch for in Pro Motocross!
Lets get to it!
2026 Supercross
450 Class
I’ll give some notes on each rider in the Top 5 of the championship standings and then some other notes as well.
1. Ken Roczen
- Roczen won the championship by just 3 points over Hunter Lawrence. Since 2010, there has been four championships decided by 5 points or less: 2011, 2017, 2025 and now 2026.
- Roczen’s 5 wins on the season tied his career best (2016 he also won 5.)
- His 5 wins moved him into the Top 10 all-time in Supercross. He is now tied for 9th with Rick Johnson with 28 career wins.
- His 191 laps led was the 4th most in a season since 2003 when lap data is available to.
- He led 40.64% of the laps on the season – which is 15th best rate since 2003.
2. Hunter Lawrence
- Hunter won his first career 450SX race this year.
- Hunter had the best average Holeshot position at 3.35. Next was Roczen at 5.48.
- Hunter’s average finish was 3.53. Roczen’s was 3.24.
- He led 121 laps. Before this season he just had 12 total.
3. Cooper Webb
Tough season for Webb, but he managed 1 win.
- Webb led just 3.40% of laps this season, the lowest of his career since 2019. (2017 and 2018, he led just one lap total)
- Webb’s starts weren’t as strong as last year, his holeshot average was 6.43.
- Webb was almost always moving forward, with his average finish at 4.35.
- Pretty crazy that Webb never crossed this finish line in first this year. His win came from the Triple Crown overall.
- Webb did move into 7th all-time in career 450SX points. He passed both Jason Anderson and Ryan Dungey in the all-time ranks.
4. Eli Tomac
Tomac looked incredible the first half of the season and then had some injuries.
- Tomac moved into 2nd all-time in the career 450SX points rankings. He passed Mike LaRocco for 2nd in Daytona.
- Tomac also tied Jeremy McGrath for 2nd in career podiums with 111.
- Eli Tomac now hasn’t raced all 17 rounds in an SX season since 2021.
- Tomac has now won a race in 12 consecutive seasons.
5. Justin Cooper
Solid year for Justin Cooper.
- 4 Podiums
- Started all 17 rounds
- Led 29 laps this year
Everyone Else
- Chase Sexton finished 6th this year. He led just 18 laps, the lowest of his 450SX career in a season. Sexton has had the most IDK man season ever, just 3 podiums.
- Kyle Chisholm reached 185 career starts – 8th all-time.
- Vince Friese moved up to 20th all-time for starts, reaching 140 this season.
250 West Class
1. Haiden Deegan
- Deegan scored 93.20% of the points available to him this year, this is the 15th highest percentage all-time in the class.
- His 7 wins in the season are tied for second most in a season (championship rounds only)
- Deegan’s 116 laps led is the second most in a 250SX season since 2003. He led 57.14% of laps – 7th all-time since 2003.
- With 14 career wins in the class, Deegan is now 3rd all-time for wins in the class.
2. Levi Kitchen
Solid year for Kitchen, just wasn’t able to match Deegan during the season.
- Kitchen’s starts weren’t great this year, average holeshot position: 8.58
- Kitchen would consistently move forward, had a net positions gained from the holeshot of 45. Second best in 250 West.
3. Max Anstie
Anstie won the first round of the season, after that though, just 2 more podiums the rest of the season.
On average Anstie pretty much finished races where he started.
Average holeshot position: 6.75, Average Finish: 5.80
4. Ryder DiFrancesco
Ryder D definitely had the bounce back season he needed after injury last year. He completed all but one lap of the total 203 laps of the season. Ryder D led his first laps of his 250SX career and finished the year with 6 total laps led.
5. Max Vohland
Vohland had the second best average holeshot position in 250W with 5.50. However, he typically went backwards and finished the season with a net positions lost of -16. His average finish was also 7.10.
Everyone Else
Cameron McAdoo – McAdoo’s 3 podiums moved him into 4th all-time in the 250SX class for podiums.
250 East Class
1. Cole Davies
- Cole Davies’ 90 laps led is the 10th most in a 250SX season since 2003
- Davies now has 190 career laps led in 250SX, which is already tied for 6th all-time since 2003.
- Davies’ starts weren’t great to start the season, but by the end, his average holeshot position was the best in the class of those who started the majority of the races
2. Seth Hammaker
- Hammaker’s 6 podiums were the most he has had in one season
- His 180 points are 3 more than he had last season
3. Daxton Bennick
- Bennick led 4 laps this season
- His two podiums are the most he has had in his 3 year 250SX career
- Bennick’s starts were a weakness this year. Average holeshot position: 9.08
- Total Net Positions Gained: 60 — most in the class
4. Coty Schock
- Solid year for Schock, was just behind his career best for points in a season (144 last year vs 140 this year).
- No podiums or laps led for Schock this year
5. Nate Thrasher
- 6th season in row for a Thrasher win! But just two podiums on the season.
- First 5 rounds of the season average finish: 11.80
- Last 5 rounds of the season average finish: 6.00
Thrasher’s inconsistency is wild…but he keeps winning every so often!
Everyone Else
Kyle Peters – Peters got to 81 career starts in 250SX and is now tied for 6th all-time in starts in the class.
Okay that wraps up Supercross, lets talk things to watch for in Pro Motocross!
2026 Pro Motocross Stats to Watch For
450 Class
Starts
Freddie Noren is at 135 career overall starts in 450 Motocross class, he has a chance to pass John Dowd for the all-time number one spot if he races at least 10 of 11 rounds. Dowd sits at 144. Freddie is currently tied with Mike LaRocco and Kyle Lewis for 2nd all-time.
Justin Barcia is at 116 career overall starts, he could move his way up to 5th all-time with all 11 rounds started. He would pass Ben Lamay, Kevin Windham, Nick Wey and Jason Thomas. JT leads that group with 126 450MX starts – good for 5th all-time.
Eli Tomac is at 105 career starts – 14th all-time, he could move his way up to 10th all-time with 11 rounds started.
Points
Eli Tomac could become the all-time points leader in the 450MX class. He currently 304 behind Mike LaRocco for 1st all-time. LaRocco sits at 4,551, Tomac at 4,247. Tomac should easily pass this if he stays healthy.
Justin Barcia is currently 7th all-time in points in the 450MX class. Barcia could pass both John Dowd and Ryan Dungey to make his way to 5th. Dungey is just 173 points ahead of Barcia.
Overall Wins
Jett Lawrence is already 5th all-time in the class in wins with 24. Jett needs just 3 to tie Bob Hannah in 4th. Tomac is at 32 in 3rd…that is 8 wins for Jett to get but if anyone can do it, its him.
Overall Podiums
Eli Tomac is 5 behind Ricky Carmichael for the all-time lead. Tomac is at 79, Carmichael at 84.
Moto Wins
Jett Lawrence is already 6th all-time with 44 moto wins. Rick Johnson is one ahead at 45. Ken Roczen is two ahead at 46. I would be shocked if Jett hasn’t passed this by round 3 haha.
Moto Podiums
Chase Sexton is 10th all-time in moto podiums with 73. James Stewart is 9th with 78. Sexton could definitely get here this year with a strong season.
Laps Led
I only have Pro Motocross laps data until 2004.
However, since then, Jett Lawrence is 6th all-time with 634. James Stewart is 5th with 699, a difference of 65 laps. Jett should pass this.
Now here is the crazy one…Eli Tomac is 4th with 748…114 laps. Jett led 228 last year…
That is absolutely insane. Dungey isn’t much further ahead at 806.
250 Class
We are at an interesting cross roads with the 250 class. With Deegan leaving, we don’t know who “the guy” to beat is. And the stats show this, all the riders active in the class now are not very high up on the all time lists.
For example, Jo Shimoda has the most starts, however, he tied for 37th all-time in the class. But I’ll highlight some things.
Points
Jo Shimoda is 11th all-time in points with 2,158. He could move his way up to 8th passing Mark Barnett, Justin Cooper and George Holland. Shimoda is 335 behind George Holland in 8th.
Overall Podiums
Jo Shimoda is 16th all-time in overall podiums. Here is where he can make up the most spots. With 8 podiums he would move up to tied for 6th all-time. That is as far as he can go this season.
Moto Podiums
Shimoda again…he is 14th all-time in moto podiums with 54, 10 would tie him for 8th with Ryan Villopoto.
Thats about it to watch for in the 250MX class! Shimoda is the only rider with the longevity and success for a lot of these stats!
