As a kid, we always had Yamaha’s and nothing could surpass the joy of listening to my dad try to peel off those black number 1’s that Yamaha insisted on putting on their bikes for years. This is for, I believe, the ’81 YZ line. |
I don’t know where this photo came from because I remember the ’87 CR250 ads being a fold out with a silver background but leave it to Tony to find this. This machine was considered vastly superior to ANYTHING else out there in ’87. If you weren’t on a Honda in ’87, you were working much harder to race. |
Did you know that in Canada, the shrouds, side panels and rear fenders were yellow? Now you do. It made these bikes look a little better. Key word, a little. |
The Maico 490’s are always considered to be some of the best bikes around and couple years ago when I went to the Primm Museum with Tony Berluti, he started almost crying when he was talking about how great the 490 that Primm had there was. |
