Life on the road is one of the coolest things and also one of the most boring things in the world as well! It really is one extreme to the next. You go from driving down the road for miles and miles of pur boredorm, to the coolness of meeting great people who you will know for the rest of your life. The experiences I have had the pleasure of enjoying, and the experiences I have had to endure really have made me into the person I am today. One thing a lot of people don’t know about me(more like don’t believe) is I have never done any drugs or drank alcohol in my life and I never will.
I am just always hyped up and happy and sometimes it makes people think I am on something haha. What they don’t know is I am just being me and trying to spread my positive attitude, my passion for the sport, and a bit of comedy to go with it! I truly enjoy what I do in my life and try to make everything that is a negative into a positive. I figure why be stuck being a dick, when you could be enjoying the moments that shape you to be who you are. I work my ass off, I don’t give up, and I love this sport. The 7deucedeuce is here and I have an endless hunger to do what I do best.
Like a lot of races this year, Enticknap just missed out on the main event at Daytona. |
One of the biggest misconceptions about getting a factory ride is that the bike is just amazing and will make you win. I think that is a huge mistake. I have actually had a chance to ride a factory bike before and truthfully its not all that great. The biggest thing people don’t understand about factory teams is the hard work that is put in day in and day out to make the bike unique to its rider. It’s really not all the fancy parts, the works suspension, custom pipes, the titanium bolt kits and all that stuff (don’t get me wrong all that shit helps when you’re looking for tenths of seconds on a track). The biggest thing is really putting the time in to test the suspension and the motors and the wheels and the bars and so on. Each factory bike is so custom to each rider it’s crazy! The motors aren’t crazy fast and the suspension isn’t magical. These bikes aren’t rocket ships and they’re not stuck to the ground like glue!
As a privateer finding the options and getting the bike to work the best it can, is really the hardest part. Unlike what most people think, the privateers pay for most of all the parts we have and then on top of that, we get the off the show room floor stuff. The off season really is a struggle because most guys work an extra job to buy bikes and support their racing. What that usually means is the bike gets whipped together last minute and we run it a week before race, where as a Villipoto or a Dungey has their bike ready months in advance and get to ride the race set up everyday. The odds really are stacked against the privateer group.

The dream to me isn’t just the fancy bike or the phat pay check. The dream to me really is being able to have a whole support group to help you, and have access to the top of the line parts and accessories that allow you to customize your bike to perfectection. Making it to where you get on that track and you know dam well that the bike underneath you is the best bike you can have, giving you the confidence in yourself that you have the best equipment to give you a chance to get the best results. That’s what getting a factory ride means!
To get that dream, to get that confidence is going to take a lot of effort and a lot of overcoming huge obstacles. I do the sport with some of the biggest obstacles to overcome for success and I don’t plan on giving it up now. 7deucedeuce is in it for the long haul and creeping up on the next step to success. I am going to keep my head down and never take my eyes off the prize. Always keeping it real #7deucedeuce out!
