Photos by James Lissimore Captions by Steve Matthes Olympic Stadium in Montreal was the site of the race and although it looks pretty cool, it’s best by date has come and gone for sure. Lissimore actually makes the inside of the stadium seem cool here. Eric Peronnard was the man who got all the American riders there and made sure everything ent smooth behind the scenes. GDR Honda team owner Diggs puts on some grip tape on Facciotti’s bike and he also wrenched for Dylan Wright. Then he bought pizza for the everyone after the main. Yay Diggs Lots of controversy about Alex Martin racing his 250 in both classes. The team had white on black #26’s for Martin but then he was booted to 450 class and needed numbers. So GDR Honda had some backgrounds on the truck from when Jake Nichols raced for the team. Bingo, bango- Martin became #145 Hot Dog Vendor laughs and laughs about trying to replace Pettis in 2019. Speaking of Pettis, he easily won the MX2 main event. What a year for for Jess. Canada MX has stepped up this year with the addition of the stand behind the starting line Hanny was there on his new Honda marketing ride. But his MX suspension held him back out there. Goerke led most of the second main event until Mookie caught him from a ways back. For about a lap it was a great race between them. Peronnard brought in a couple of French SX vets in Cedric Soubeyras and Thomas Ramette. And they were on Suzuki’s at that. Combined with Martin, they tripled the amount of Suzuki’s that raced in all of Canadian moto this year. Alex “Nichols” Martin was pretty good on the smaller bike out there. He’s very stoked on his 2019 machine although he rode the 2018 in Montreal. Facciotti didn’t have the night he wanted to under the lights and lost a few points to Thompson in the 100K Rockstar Triple Crown chase. Ramette, the true Rammer out there. Filthy Phil debuted his Rockstar OTSFF Yamaha ride and new FXR gear. He crashed in the final main event and then got run over by Hampshire. T-Dags got a great start in the final main event and led a lap and everything. RJ Hampshire was there, had some bike issues, ate poop because of them and then got put down by Hanny in main number 1. Rough night for the #36. Colt Nichols was very good all day long, just a tick off Mookie. These two had some great races in almost every main event with Goerke getting the edge for third. Mike Brown was there! And although he’s 43 years old and wasn’t that comfortable on the full-on SX track he did ok. Mookie was the man in Montreal going 1-1-1. This man wanted to light me on fire just a few years ago. We’re good now though! Lissimore
